The Patel Firm released an analysis of Texas Department of Transportation crash data covering the period through August 2026. The report examines intersection-related accident patterns across 11 cities in the state.

The interchange at Interstate 35E and Highway 183 recorded 70 crashes, making it the most dangerous location in Dallas for 2026. This spot is situated near the Dallas Market Center, at the point where Mockingbird Lane crosses Crown Plaza.

Interstate 35E and Spur 366 followed with 69 crashes, while Interstate 635 and Skillman Street accounted for 61 incidents. Dallas posted the highest crash severity rate among the 11 surveyed cities. The city recorded a 3.7% rate for crashes resulting in serious injuries or fatalities, compared to a low of 0.5% in Laredo.

Dallas drivers face specific risks that differ from the rest of the study group. Ten of the 11 cities saw crash numbers peak on Fridays, but Dallas was the only location where Saturday proved to be the most dangerous day of the week. The most common age for individuals involved in Dallas crashes is 25, with the overall demographic skewing toward the 18 to 26 range.

Officials identified failing to control speed as the top contributing factor in these accidents. The peak hour for collisions in Dallas occurs during the evening commute between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. The full report details these findings and compares local data against state averages.
