iPhone Update: Dual camera calls join groups

Apple will push iOS 27.2 to iPhone users next week. The update follows iOS 27.1, which was limited to the iPhone Duo, making 27.2 the standard release for most devices. Three main changes distinguish this build from the previous version.
The most visible shift affects FaceTime. Dual Capture, introduced in iOS 27, allows users to show front and rear camera views simultaneously. In the prior version, this feature worked only during one-on-one calls. iOS 27.2 extends Dual Capture to Group FaceTime calls. On compatible models, users tap the Flip button to activate the rear camera while the front camera remains active.
Apple Podcasts receives a structural change to its home screen. The existing Up Next queue is split into two distinct sections. New Episodes replaces Up Next and lists the latest releases from followed shows. A new section called Continue Playing sits directly below it. This area aggregates shows that a listener has started but not finished. A 9to5Mac writer described the old layout as cluttered and called the new design a major improvement for tracking listening habits.
The Apple TV app on iPhone gains user profiles for the first time. Profiles previously existed only on tvOS. After updating, users see a profile selection screen upon opening the app. This screen can be disabled if users prefer not to use it. When a profile is active, the app adjusts content recommendations to match that specific viewer. A child profile filters the library to show only age-appropriate Apple series and movies. This setup keeps an adult's viewing queue separate and limits children's access to unsuitable material on a parent's device.
According to 9to5Mac, iOS 27.2 includes new features across six iPhone apps in total. The update is scheduled for release next week.
