AEG Presents has released the initial performance schedule for Moonline, a 1,500-capacity music venue located in Austin, Texas. The company announced the lineup one week after revealing the inaugural calendar for United Heritage Hall, its new 4,000-seat facility. Moonline occupies the physical space where Emo's currently operates, a location that the long-standing club will vacate to return to its original downtown site after more than 30 years in that area.
AEG states that Moonline will open in 2027 following a period of renovation. The construction team is currently upgrading the sound system, green rooms, backstage facilities, and guest amenities. The venue is positioned as a distinct business entity from United Heritage Hall, although both are owned by AEG and sit approximately one mile apart. United Heritage Hall is a new construction project anchoring a mixed-use development, while Moonline operates within an existing structure.
The programming strategy for Moonline targets a range of genres, from mainstream pop and hip-hop to niche alternative styles. The announced calendar for 2027 begins in February and extends through May. The first scheduled date is February 13, featuring HeartByrne, a tribute act for the band Talking Heads. Subsequent dates include Bad Suns on February 17 and Chelsea Cutler on February 26.
The schedule continues into March with Haken on March 4, Beach Bunny on March 6, and Currents on March 12. Saves the Day is booked for March 24. A double bill featuring Gorilla Biscuits and Terror is set for March 31, followed by Paul Wall on April 2. The calendar concludes with Postmodern Jukebox on May 22 and Blondshell on May 26.
Robin Phillips, Vice President of the Southwest Region for AEG Presents, described the selection process in a press release. She stated that the calendar was designed to ensure that hardcore, pop, and Houston rap performances all feel appropriate for the room within the same month. Phillips noted that the venue was built to reflect Austin's history of accommodating diverse musical styles.
Ticket sales for most of the listed acts will begin with artist presales on Thursday, October 29. Public sales for those performances are scheduled for Friday, October 30, at 10:00 a.m. via moonlineaustin.com. Beach Bunny is the exception to this timeline, with its artist presale starting Thursday, November 12, and its public sale commencing on November 13.
While both AEG venues will host emerging and established artists, their capacities and initial lineups suggest different market focuses. United Heritage Hall is expected to attract larger, more mainstream touring acts. Moonline is positioned to serve a more alternative audience. Both venues differ from downtown Austin's smaller clubs, which primarily feature local talent, as AEG's spaces are oriented toward touring acts with national followings.
