The SportsLine Projection Model has generated nearly $19,000 in profit for hypothetical $100 players since 2018. This figure reflects the model's performance on its top-rated National Basketball Association picks. The algorithm has achieved four-digit profits for five consecutive seasons. It currently holds a 26-10 record on top-rated spread picks dating back to the previous season. This 72% success rate enters the second week of the 2026-27 campaign.
The model simulates every NBA game 10,000 times to generate these projections. Wednesday, Oct. 28, features a 12-game slate. Two nationally broadcast games anchor the schedule. The Philadelphia 76ers visit the Indiana Pacers. The Dallas Mavericks host the Oklahoma City Thunder. The model identifies two specific player prop bets with attractive odds for these matchups.
LeBron James faces the Pacers with an over line of 30.5 points, rebounds, and assists. The odds for this bet sit at -117. James has exceeded this threshold in two of his four games with Philadelphia. The Pacers lack center Ivica Zubac. Guards Tyrese Haliburton and Andrew Nembhard are also questionable starters. The model projects James for 36.1 combined stats in this contest. He is the NBA's all-time leading scorer.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander faces the Mavericks with an over line of 42.5 points, rebounds, and assists. The odds for this bet are also -117. The two-time reigning MVP plays without Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace due to injuries sustained earlier in the week. Alex Caruso, Chet Holmgren, and Thomas Sorber are also out for the game. The model projects Gilgeous-Alexander for 59.7 combined stats. This high projection reflects the likely need for him to handle the ball frequently against Dallas.
