Vanessa Trump, 48, stated on Friday that she is now cancer-free after a recent round of tests returned negative results. She shared the update in a short video posted to the Instagram account of her 19-year-old daughter, Kai. In the clip, she said her recent test results "came back clear, so I'm finally cancer-free."
The announcement comes months after she first revealed her diagnosis. Trump was diagnosed with breast cancer in April and made the news public in May. At that time, she wrote on social media that she had already undergone surgery and was collaborating with her medical team on a treatment plan.
Kai Trump used the social media caption to explain that the short clip serves as a preview for a longer video scheduled to appear on YouTube on Saturday. The full release will feature a conversation between mother and daughter about breast cancer awareness and prevention. They will be joined by Dr. Nicole Saphier to discuss the journey and the importance of early detection.
Kai noted that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. She described the period as a time to raise awareness about education, early detection, and support for those affected by the disease. The initial post attracted more than 20,000 likes and hundreds of comments offering good wishes, including a message from American singer Mary Millben.
Medical experts provide context for the diagnosis statistics. The American Cancer Society reports that the average risk for a woman in the US developing breast cancer is approximately 1 in 8, or 13%. The disease accounts for 30% of all new female cancer cases each year.
Treatment outcomes vary, but surgery cures most breast cancers. When disease remains after surgery, doctors may use chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or endocrine therapy to lower the risk of the cancer returning. Medical teams continue to refine these approaches, incorporating targeted therapies for early-stage cases, new hormonal treatments, and more precise radiotherapy methods.
Trump separated from Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of President Donald Trump, in 2018. The couple has five children together. Trump began dating professional golfer Tiger Woods last year.
